Announcing a competition . . .

Posted by kathryn in Autumn and An Honest Kitchen

Lucy and I are cracking on with the Autumn An Honest Kitchen. It’s coming together rather well.

For a while now we’ve been posting photos onto Flickr. Out-takes, process shots, some of the bodgy photos I’ve taken of early recipe testing – they’re all up at the An Honest Kitchen Flickr group. And a few of you lovely people have also posted your photos. Pictures of the recipes you’ve made.

We’d love to see more of you there and see more of what you’re cooking from An Honest Kitchen.

So, in the build up to the release of Autumn, Lucy and I have decided to run a competition. We want you to photograph something you’ve made from An Honest Kitchen: any recipe, from any edition. Feel free to adapt the recipe, to suit your tastes and your fridge contents. In fact we love a bit of recipe adaptation, so go right ahead and make the dish yours.

Once you’ve taken your photo, upload it to the Flickr group. Include a note saying which recipe it is and if you’ve adapted the recipe, also write a couple of sentences saying how and why you made the changes you did.

If you don’t have a copy of An Honest Kitchen, you can still join in. There are three free extracts available for download from here, one for each edition. And each of these extracts includes a recipe.

If you’re not a blogger and/or not a Flickr user you can also join in. In fact the more the merrier. Simply take a photo and then email the picture to Lucy or I, we’ll put it up on Flickr for you and you’ll be part of the competition.

And even if you don’t think you’re a great photographer, then please do still join in. We’re not necessarily looking for the prettiest or most perfect photo. We’re also interested in what you’ve done with the recipes, how you’ve photographed them, where you’ve eaten the dish, how you’ve changed and adapted them – so be creative.

Entries must be received by midnight on Sunday 18 April (Australian time) and we’ll be announcing the winners on Tuesday 20 April when we release Autumn.

So get photographing!

Happy Easter to you too Mariana. Thanks for your good wishes, hopefully you’ll have enough time to put in an entry, but quite understand that life does sometimes get in the way! Hope you’re well.
