- Vegan lasagne: I do like this recipe from Messy Vegetarian Cook for a vegan lasagne. It contains tofu, vegetables and a creamy sauce made of cashews.
- Hospital food: Via The Guardian is Hospital Notes. Traction Man posts photos of hospital food and asks readers to guess what it is. It’s hard to tell sometimes.
- Home made granola: Most shop bought granolas are high in fat. Shauna from The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl has posted a healthier, home made version, which uses a whizzed up banana as the main sweetener. It’s a neat idea.
- Wormy spaghetti: The Times has a series of recipes by Lucy Dahl based on Roald Dahl’s books. From The Twits there’s wormy spaghetti. While there’s also a plate of soil with engine oil from James and the Giant Peach and lots more.
- Kale chips: I’m very intrigued by the recipe over at Nourish Me for kale chips. Lucy says they are “shatteringly crisp and nutty, a little like just-popped corn”. Sounds good to me.

these links have led me all over the net today – thanks for the inspiration – I love the idea of Ronald Dahl recipes in particular – wonder what he would think of them
Johanna: You can buy the Roald Dahl cookbooks; I used to make sure each kids bookshop I managed stocked both. They are def. not for kids to cook from (some recipes are very complicated) but I reckon Sylvia, and you, will treasure them. Worth ordering if your local shop doesn’t have them on the shelf.
I didn’t know there was a Roald Dahl cookbook, in fact I’ve just had to Google it and there’s an extract here. The recipes I’ve linked to above are by Lucy Dahl his granddaughter (?) – maybe she’s working up to publishing something new.
Kathryn – good on you for being able to fangle that linkage! They’re fantastic cookbooks, though, being inspired by a man with a notorious sweet-tooth, there’s a LOT of ‘naughty’ foods!
I meant to also say, yum vegan lasagne. Have gone tofu-loco of late.
I like the idea of the Roald Dahl recipes, although it would be even better with a picture.
