What I'm eating

  • Saturday. Iku lunch today: tofu burger w/ steamed veg, pickled red cabbage & beetroot, & chickpea w/ beetroot. Plus they're amazing dressing
  • Thurs late lunch: Pad Thai with tofu and double the vegetables.
  • Hungry all morning & knew lunch was going to be late. Had half a tin of white beans, a banana, a peach & square of Beetrotinger cake.
  • Thurs breakfast: rye and pumpkin seed toast again. One w/ white bean paste / dip & t'other w/ marmalade. Plus some pineapple.
  • Made kind of polenta pie for Tues dinner. Polenta top & bottom, w/ filling of lentils & silverbeet cooked in tomato.Topped w/ cheese & baked

Cooking for one . . . or two

Another seminar for the Sydney-siders . . .

If there’s just one or two of you at home, it can feel hard to get motivated to cook a proper meal in the evening. Instead many people fall back on take-away or toast.

However no matter the size of your family, eating good food is fundamental to your health and wellbeing. And it’s possible to make it easier.

In October and November I’ll be running some seminars on Cooking for One or Two. I’ll be looking at tips and strategies for making it easier to eat well. We’ll talk about how to make smaller meals; use leftovers creatively; get motivated for cooking in the evening; and find healthy foods which can be cooked quickly.

Bring along a friend and join me at Balance2health for a glass of wine and some nibblies, while I run through easy and practical solutions.

  • Date: Saturday 31 October – other dates may be added, depending on demand
  • Time: 3.00pm – 4.30pm

This sounds like a great idea – I will recommend to a friend who always complains that it is too hard/too much effort to bother to cook for just one person.

Thank you Spice & More I really appreciate that. It can be tricky to get motivated to cook for one, but there are so many health benefits. It’s all about knowing how to make the cooking easy and time efficient.
