What I'm eating

  • Saturday. Iku lunch today: tofu burger w/ steamed veg, pickled red cabbage & beetroot, & chickpea w/ beetroot. Plus they're amazing dressing
  • Thurs late lunch: Pad Thai with tofu and double the vegetables.
  • Hungry all morning & knew lunch was going to be late. Had half a tin of white beans, a banana, a peach & square of Beetrotinger cake.
  • Thurs breakfast: rye and pumpkin seed toast again. One w/ white bean paste / dip & t'other w/ marmalade. Plus some pineapple.
  • Made kind of polenta pie for Tues dinner. Polenta top & bottom, w/ filling of lentils & silverbeet cooked in tomato.Topped w/ cheese & baked

Q & A Thursday is over

It’s been a bumper edition, but Q & A Thursday is now over for this month.

Today I’ve answered questions on:

  • reheating rice
  • whether it’s possible to eat too much fruit
  • the connection between milk and acne
  • the biological value of protein and it’s impact on diet
  • LSA and whether you need to grind up seeds to get all their nutrition
  • do cooked vegetables lose their nutrients
  • fasting

Wow, Kathryn, that was a bumper edition with a fantastic set of questions and answers. Your segments often get me thinking about things I might not have thought to ask myself or maybe even just haven’t thought about in a while – always a good thing! Really enjoyed the segment. :)

I do kind of wonder about fasting – maybe if even only partially – because i kind of also wonder if in general we eat far more food than we should be…ie the caloric recommendations are high…did caveman eat as often as we do and as much? perhaps another topic to look into…

Ricki, Cassie, Shorty – glad you enjoyed this month’s Q & A Thursday. It was a pretty big day of blogging for me. But thoroughly enjoy the questions and trying to give meaningful answers. I’m always fascinated by what people ask – it’s not always the questions I think they would have.
