- Kitchen tips: Three mini tips from Mark Bittman – foods he keeps in the kitchen, to make meal preparation easier. I’ve used parmesan rind in soups and it’s wonderful – but never thought to freeze the stuff.
- Quinoa breakfast: I’ve previously linked to some of Ricki’s wonderfully imaginative quinoa recipes, now Heidi at 101 Cookbooks has posted a nutty, cinnamon breakfast quinoa. This looks glorious and a great way to start the day.
- The difficulties of sticking to a health plan: This post over at Cranky Fitness strongly resonated with me: why can’t you stick to your plan?. It’s all about entitlement and worth a read.
- Don’t wait until you’re hungry: At Capital Health Dr Arya M Sharma discusses why hunger makes you eat crap.
- Kidney bean salad: Over at Flexitarian Menu Cookinpanda is after quick and easy dishes. Previous posts include creamy spiced tofu with peas. This week red kidney beans with walnut dressing is on the menu.
- Muffins: Unique Little Bits has been making muffins, including this excellent combination. How good do mango, cardamon and peanut butter muffins sound? I’m hoping to make these over the weekend.

I love these quicklinks pages, Kathryn—they always give me some great reading material!
So glad you like the combination of mango, cardamom and peanut butter muffins. Roundups are great motivation for getting creative with ingredients.
Glad you liked the kidney bean salad. Also, I really enjoy your quicklinks because you include short but descriptive details about each link.
Glad to hear you all like the Quicklinks – there’s so much good stuff out there, I do like to include some regular highlights.
LisaRene – I LOVE the look of your muffins. We’re out of mango season, but have some leftover cheeks in the freezer, so think I might use them for a muffin batch this weekend.
And Cookinpanda the kidney bean salad is genius. I know you based it on a Madhur recipe (she’s my favourite cook), but I’ve never noticed it before. Love the walnut sauce.
Thanks so much for mentioning Cranky Fitness!
And mmm, those muffins sure sound good!
No worries at all Crabby. It’s an interesting article – haven’t actually thought about the sense of entitlement before – but some important truths in there.
