I think you’re a legend! This food looks great. Your portion sizes spin me out – just because they are moderate. I love your special weekly eating-out night too. This is a great segment – Cheers.

Bathsheba – thanks so much for your comment and enthusiasm. I’m glad you’re enjoying the segment. I’m finding it really interesting too.

Oh jeez…so far, your week’s food looks consistently healthier than how my family eats. No meat, more raw ingredients, lower fat and much smaller portions too!

I don’t think I hang out with slobs or have the worst diet, but I haven’t seen many people consistently eat so healthily. I would love to know what a “break-out” meal would look like for you Kathryn. Maybe on a day next week you could show us how a “bad” day would look like for you? You know…the binge day you loose all control and eat junk/alcohol/chocolate/wine/chips/excess quantities etc. A typical indulgent festive season day that is common this time of year!?

I don’t mean to sound cruel or punishing, but I am genuinely interested in what constitutes a bad diet day for you…I am guessing it would shock my perception of my own diet a little more.

kathryn 30 November, 2007

HI there Andrew. Firstly I’m vegetarian – so there won’t be any meat. I’m not one of those people who has the uber-fast metabolism, I can put on weight easily – so yes I do keep a handle on the fat and portion sizes. I also deliberately pick foods that I know will keep me going.

I do eat better during the week, then relax a bit on the weekend – so things will change over the next few days.

You’re comment about a break-out made me laugh. I’m happy to post a bad day, when the next one comes up!

OH KATHRYN i am in awe of your ability to walk away from half a Weiss bar. I had almost forgotten about them but now i’ll think of nothing else for months :)

kathryn 04 December, 2007

Well I only bought one and the other half was eaten by Richard – so no temptation or walking away required. That’s my strategy with “treat” foods- buy small quantities of really good stuff.

I love Weis bars – find them such a satisfying little treat. And they don’t break the kilojoule bank.
