Encouraging children to eat a healthy diet

Posted by kathryn in Kid's nutrition

The latest GI newsletter includes a useful list of suggestions on how to get your children to eat well. The number one suggestion is one I often give to parents “if you do it, they will too”:

Children are primed and ready to follow examples set by others – parents, babysitters, nannies, the day care centre teacher. So the key strategy is that you and those you hire to care for your kids ‘model’ a healthy lifestyle simply by eating well and being physically active in their presence.

The full list of suggestions is here. I’ve blogged about childrens’ diet on a number of occasions, if you want to scroll through my back catalogue.
