Latest issue of Life etc and walnut recipes

Posted by kathryn in Miscellanea and Dinners

The latest issue of Life etc, including my regular Ten Minute Kitchen recipe column. The theme for this issue is walnuts and the recipes include:

  • Barbecued flathead with walnuts
  • Walnut & egg salad with creamy eggplant dressing
  • Spiced lamb with walnuts

For the next two months you can download the recipes from the Life etc website. The button is in the right-hand sidebar, about half way down.

If you do pick up the magazine, I’m one of the people on their Meet The Team page.

I just purchased the latest issue of Life etc. Were it not for you Kathryn I probably would have overlooked it. Due to the number of magazines on the shelves these days I find it all too much and don’t really look at anything. The only ones I buy are the “foodie” ones such as superfoods, table and agt. Anyway, it was nice to see you in the mag. I love your green shoes and your big bright smile.

Susan Sarandon blew me away. Can she really be 60 and look that good? No wrinkles on her neck. Amazing. Her face was glowing and she looked 40 to me. Even younger actually.

I went to a library presentation last week held by the people from Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat and it was so interesting to see some of their recipes and hear some of their stories. This was their very first presentation to the public and the turnout was amazing. They said they used absolutely no dairy whatsoever, not even low fat yoghurt or skim milk. Interesting to see that Golden Door does. I was curious about the celery salt. Will lookout for that.

We are big viewers of SBS and ABC in our household and the kids are hanging out for “Summer Heights HIgh”. They enjoyed reading the article about Chris Lilley. They just loved We Can Be Heroes and they own the DVD. They also love Spics and Specs and Chasers. Me personally, I’ll take The Cook and The Chef anyday.

Thanks for introducing us to Life etc.

I’m very pleased to be part of Life etc, it’s such a good magazine – very different from most of the others around. I’m saving up my copy for two days time when I leave on holiday!

Sounds like the Gwinganna retreat presentation was very interesting – I shall look forward to reading all about them.
