- The Morbid Me linked to a UK site with a photo gallery of foods totalling 120 calories. 120 calories is about 500 kJ – which is a snack portion. I find these pictorial guides quite useful as they give a clear idea of portion sizes and also how energy expensive junk foods are. A while ago Diet-Blog had a similar post on 300 calorie meals and you might also be interested in my guide to five serves of vegetables.
- In what about the parents? Autism Vox writes movingly of the concerns and worries for the future of parents of autistic people.
- The Guardian has some good advice about how to avoid taking antibiotics unnecessarily.
- The strangest site I’ve seen all week are these novelty sandwiches. I’m not commenting on their nutritional value, but they made me smile.
- Just when you thought I wasn’t going to mention glorious beetroot any longer, I mistake Lucy’s blue soup for a beetroot dish and then notice Haalo’s making beetroot cooked in marmalade.
- Vanesscipes has taken up the challenge to make vegan banana peanut butter cocoa cookies (try saying that ten times very quickly).
- I’m going to a housewarming BBQ this weekend and I’m going to take along some of Quick Indian Cooking’s tandoori paneer kebabs.
